Senior Process Technologist
(Technical expert, creative, independent, engaged, analytical)

The Senior Process Technologist is the process owner of dedicated micro-assembly (sub)-processes: they may range from printing processes, soldering, bonding up to complex assembly and testing steps. Deep understanding of materials behavior, experience with robust design techniques and a critical, facts-based engineering approach are key ingredients for this position.

As process owner you are responsible for process definition, optimization (to meet target yield and cost price) and up-to-date with latest technological developments. You are the technical expert responsible for definition and implementation of critical to quality (CTQ) indicators, process (statistical) control, and experimental design to optimize production process and derive requirements to production equipment. You operate as technical lead during process validation, failure analysis activities and are able to structurally solve process related issues. You take part and lead multidisciplinary implementation teams as part of the NPI team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support and coach engineering colleagues and technicians, define the technical operating framework and are responsible for the execution of process verification, validation and release to the manufacturing sites;
  • Assure training of the operators for new production processes;
  • Deliver documentation according to the production creation and quality process;
  • You share your knowledge to help develop new products and advice the management on future investment needs;
  • Provide second line support for production processes running in manufacturing;
  • Indicate improvement actions and participate in reviews of other product/process developments projects.
Essential qualifications and skills:
  • An academic background (MSc/PhD), preferably on Materials Science, Applied Physics, Chemistry or Electronics;
  • More than 5 years relevant experience on a similar position in an international high-end manufacturing environment;
  • Strong know-how of product- and process development methods: DfX, CTQ, DOE, QFD, V-model; Strong SPC skills (methods and tools): analysis of variance, MSA using Anova, Minitab;
  • Affinity with failure analysis methods: FMEA/CP, 8-D, 5-Whys, Root Cause Analysis, Ishikawa;
  • Experience in a multinational manufacturing environment (automotive, medical, high-tech);
  • Working knowledge of TS/ISO quality standards (medical, automotive, military);
  • Good communication and reporting skills in Dutch and English. German and/or Chinese are a plus;
  • Flexible, creative, engaged and representative.
